One of the nation’s most beloved sporting events, the annual Army-Navy game, returns to Lincoln Financial Field on December 8, marking the 84th time the game has been played in Philadelphia.
While always an intense matchup, this year’s game has even more riding on it than usual. For the first time since 2005, the Commander-in-Chief’s trophy — given to the winner of the round robin played out among the nation’s service academies — will be awarded to the team that wins the Army/Navy bout.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m., but the gates open at 11 a.m. and fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early. Tickets are limited (so move quickly) and are available at http://www.ticketmaster.com.
Army-Navy Pep Rally: On Friday, December 7 at 12:00 noon at Liberty Place (17th & Market Streets), fans are invited to join cheerleaders and pep bands to get fired up for the big game.
The game will be televised nationally by CBS and carried worldwide by Westwood One and Armed Forces Radio. Locally, the game will be broadcast live on CBS-3 TV and 97.5 The Fanatic.
