If you have some free time tomorrow, why not head over to the Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey to see over 100 fire fighting apparatus compete for titles in appearance and functionality…..and some pretty cute firemen!
The muster will showcase antique and motor driven fire fighting apparatus from the last two centuries! A fire muster by definition is an event pertaining to fire/rescue services. It is held in a central area such as a park and has many activities for fire department members and sometimes other community members. A muster typically revolves around a firematic competition between fire companies from around the surrounding area. Other attractions include a flea market, live music, food, demonstrations, apparatus judging, vehicle shows and contests.
The New Jersey – Pennsylvania – Delaware area group, CLAFAA (Cradle of LIberty Antique Fire Apparatus Association), is hosting this event which is the Summer National Convention for SPAAMFAA (Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America).
This is a free event for the public. Opening ceremonies are at 10:00 am and the muster runs until 3:00 pm.
